    Out of Range

    Dear All

We have got a CPU with Windows 2000 Professional

We are able to go to Set up Mode and able to see all the related screens but during normal power up, without going to Set up Mode, we get Out Of Range 43.2KHz/85Hz or Input Not Supported

As per message on screen, if we press F8 to get into Advanced Mode, it is not getting into Advanced Mode so that we can try to change resolution

    Kindly advice

    Regards,

    M. Rishikesh

Try starting the pc in safe mode. That will force it into 640*480 mode at a low refresh rate.

It sounds like you've just exceeded the rating of your monitor.

I said safe mode. That's what it's called. Wasn't sure what you were talking about.

Are you using a keyboard with "special" F keys? Look for an "F Lock" key.
Problem with those, is that when the pc is first booted up, the F keys aren't F keys yet! You have to very quickly hit the F lock button, then start hitting F8.

    M.RISHIKESH,

Continuously tap the F8 key while the computer is booting up. First a window will pop up that requires you to choose the drive. The drive is IDE-0 on most PCs. Select the drive that has your operating system installed and then continue to tap the F8 key. Windows will start in the Safe Mode.

Attach another monitor that can run that fast and then slow the refresh rate.
