anyone have the current version? if so, how do you find them? I believe they are selling for around $185, but I no longer see any reference to cd's... can you only access them online now?

If you decide to buy, it might be worth calling to see if they have any current "specials" going. The tutorials I tried with Alibre 6 were very good, but that was 6 years ago or so and I haven't looked at anything newer.

I have the ones for 2011. They are informative, but IMHO quite slow and monotonous.

If your looking for tutorials, believe Cubify Invent is a trimmed down version of PE. Tom Meeks tutorials got me started on the demo software for Invent. I'm now on the fence for buying PE 2012, or waiting on 2013.

Tom has a nice flare, at least for me, on introducing the software:

If you are talking about Alibre PE and don't want to pay the $100 for maintenance, wait a bit longer for 2013 which is probably going to be released within the next few weeks, maybe less.
