Riddle me this, can anybody guess what this is?

Normally I am the go to guy to know figure out what things are and how they work. Well someone brought me something from a closed down machine shop that I have not seen before, no marks, no part numbers, nothing to identify what or who made it.
What is known, Hardened steel, TiN coated,
Anyways I will spare you any more vague details, take a look at the pictures and help solve the riddle.

Dude, those are parts from a couple of light sabers. So damn obvious.

Looks maybe like some sort of rotary shear for cutting strips of something?

    They are internal broaching tools

possibly to do the large crank radius on an engine's con rod ( as an example )

    Some other examples

Glad to see I am not the only one that hasn't seen this before, shredder, maybe but doesn't seem to have enough cutting bite. I was leaning towards a broaching tool also or a reamer. One appears to have been used while the other doesn't, the one that has been used has minute scratches running parallel with the length of the rod. hmmm, anybody else?

I'd have to agree with you

I would most likely agree with it being a broaching tool of sorts, but what is confusing is the void in the middle and what appears to be a mounting hole. It does start out at a diameter of 1.705" and finally to 1.905" with each cutter increasing in size by 0.0075".
Would like to know what type of machine this would go to.

Used on a ram type of machine ( vert. or horiz. ) ...... PDF ... looks very similar

& a Chinese site with a few extra broaches to do the flat zones on the side ... link

these machines were a b$tch to maintain....so many sharp edges, Band-aids were always on backorder.
for each round "tooth", it would be plunge ground to be able to give it a back clearance, the nicks are a chip breaker, no nicks in the last couple of finishers
    - used in a flood of neat, thick oil

I knew a guy that lost his arm ( just above elbow, early 70's ) by being too close to a horizontal ram type machine. Got it caught between the external stiffening webs of the slide & an outrigger on the base. Didn't even make the m/c skip a beat
