    Error while tapping

We are trying to tap 3 off M10 x 1.5 hole using a Fagor 8055i control and BobcadV25 when we run the Prog it does the
C/Drill (Canned) then the Tap Drill (Canned ) but when it gets to the Tapping (Canned) it comes up with Error code 0006
which says there is a minus value somewhere where there should only be a Positive.
    The line reads
    N88 G84 G98 X0. Y0. Z2.54 I-17.913 K0.5 R1 J100 F1.5 S200
and this seems to be correct or am I missing something as the other Canned part of the Prog run fine.
    The co-ords are in G90.
Can anyone see or know where the error could be.

    Thank Kiwi,

That made the machine go thru the moves and NO error so I will try on the part later.

I'm having the same problem tapping with a 4-40. I have tried both of the below lines of code. I'm guessing the F value is the problem. What should it be?

    N439 G84 G98 X0.25 Y-0.25 Z0.1 I-0.2008 K0. R1 J1 F0.025 S500

    N439 G84 G98 X0.25 Y-0.25 Z0.1 I-0.2008 K0. R1 J100 F0.025 S500

    Thanks,

    My guess without trying:
    N439 G84 G98 X0.25 Y-0.25 Z0.1 I-0.2008 K0. R1 J1 F12.5 S500

Kiwi just explain to CM the way you get the F value as I am away for awhile.

As the thread is 40 TPI, the F value needs to be one fortieth of the S. eg. 500/40 = 12.5

Why don't you guys use a G95 before the cycle...... the F will always be the pitch of the thread, the S can be altered without having to re-calculate the feed

NOTE.... always have a G94 ( feed per minute ) placed in the header & after any tool that uses G95

This seems to work. I had to add a 5 to the K value. I don't get the error anymore and the machine goes through the motions. My tap broke but I think I need one of those floating tap holders. BobCad does not seem to be able to modify the post to output the code properly though.
