    X,Y & Z Edge Finding Prob

I would like a Haimer but can not afford one so decided to make something that will give an easy edge find for not much money nor effort.
This is a pretty simple build.
I went to the hardware store and picked up an electrical block for $6 and some aligator clips.
I already had a digital multi meter with continuity.
I solder some speaker wire to the brass electical block and honed it so all surfaces were square.
Then I applied some masting tape to one side.
The brass bock was 9.45mm and the masting tape was .1mm so all up the block was 9.55mm.

I made a drill press centre some time ago using a 10mm stainless steel rod. I placed the centre into the mill and lowered the quill. I placed the brass block masting tape side onto the aluminium job stock. I attached the multimeter set to continuity to the brass block and the centre and moved the bed until the multimeter buzzed.

I then zeroed out the mill and moved the job towards the centre.
I moved it the block thickness 9.55mm and half the SS centre which was 4.98mm for a total movement of 14.53mm.
I know it is hard to see in the images but it is spot on the edge.
