They are as rare as hens teeth but I know a fella that's scrapping a machine and may be able to sell one if he hasn't already. Give me a day and I'll ask him tomorrow.

Right. I'll have a word about the DSP tomorrow. What makes you sure that it's that causing your probs?

as far as can tell i have a control issue as soon as I try moving the axis (any inc spindle) the axis enable and control on relay drop out with no errors showing on any drives , spoke to hurco service and they seem to think its the DPS ?

I had a word with the fella about the DSP and he does still have it.
When you start your servos, does the display on the drives change? It may even be that the limit switches are causing problems if they don't have a good connection to 24v or 0v. If you can slide back the covers to the X axis, press power on, reset servos and start and then see if you can turn the ballscrew by hand before trying to jog it.

I'll ask him tomorrow. It sounds like your machine isn't coming out of base blocked mode.

yea I got the manual for the drives and it says its in baseblock mode , what would cause that ? , is it a case of the control (DSP)not sending the signal to the drives to not bring them out of baseblock or a limit switch not letting the drives come out of baseblock mode ??

Each drive has a servo on signal. I'd find it hard to believe that there were four outputs faulty on one board. I'll pull a schematic out in the morning and have a look.

That's a thought. Are the little switches on the relay panel turned on? There are three next to the plugs going to the amps. They are on the lower right side. Those can disable the servo on signal.
