    Hello Guy's

I got 3 1.4kw servo motor's for free 2day. They are Kuka branded. My problem is, i need to know what controller will work with them that has a reasonabl price tag.

Gecko / Chinese servo drivers...etc. They look kinda old but in good shape.

    Servo Details tag :

    KUKA Schweibanlagen + Roboter
    Gmbh D-8900 Augsburg

    AC- Servomotor 1 FT3071
    Nr E: 9k80 6063 14 014
    1.41kw 84v 11 A 3k rpm
    I.CL. F IMB14 IP64 A.Nr : 0269225445

I got hold of some older European origin motors and had to end up doing some reverse engineering, the first thing and most obvious is the motor technology, DC brushed? BLDC or AC sinusoidal? stepper etc?

If they are AC servo's then they most likely have resolvers for position and commutation, if used in robotics application then they could be using absolute encoders?
It may need further examination by removing the rear cover etc.

Sounds like it might be a resolver geared off the shaft, as was often done on this age of motor.
    A photo would confirm.
