    HAAS alarm when using probe

I apologize if this is in the wrong section:

I am trying to set up an older HAAS VF3 to use the renishaw optical probe. When I input G65 P9023... it throws this alarm out.

310 INVALID G CODE - G code not defined and is not a macro call. I went to the parameters for G MACRO CALL and it goes from

    G MACRO CALL 9010 91: 200
    G MACRO CALL 9011 92: 0
    G MACRO CALL 9012 93: 0
    G MACRO CALL 9013 94: 0
    G MACRO CALL 9014 95: 0
    G MACRO CALL 9015 96: 0
    G MACRO CALL 9016 97: 0
    G MACRO CALL 9017 98: 0
    G MACRO CALL 9018 99: 0
    G MACRO CALL 9019 100: 0

What can I do to make this thing work. We are running parts that the reference point varies about .010 and using the probe will save on set up time.

Can you post the probe section that you use to call it up in the program? For example:

    N25 (PROBE)
    T25 M06
    G00 G90 G56 X0 Y0 M05
    G43 H25 Z3. T17
    G65 P9832
    G65 P9810 Z.25 F50.
    G65 P9023 A4. X7.9 S56. Z-.73
    G00 Z3.
    G53 Y0 Z0
    M00

9023 is a program that needs to be in the machine's memory. Is it there? I am not 100% on this, but I believe the 9023 program was introduced when the VQCPS was developed. I am not sure if it compatable with older machines; pre 2000.

Do you have the renishaw Inspection Plus Software manual? If not, I would go to the Renishaw and go through it carefully; it has many examples. Unfortunately, last time I looked it was only available as a web document and not downloadable. I am sure your dealer could help you get a copy if needed.

Re: HAAS alarm when using probe

I love when I find a 8 year old post that has exactly the problem I'm experiencing that was closed with no solution.

I am currently having this issue. Did you ever find a solution?

Update. My issue was resolved by inputting my unlock code for macro variables in the parameters. I’m not sure why I had to reunlock this option, seeing as I have been using it for years with no issues, but that did the trick.
