    Post Issue

    Hi everyone.

I have a couple of issues with a post I am making for a Haas ST-30 2 axis lathe. Quite a simple task I thought but I am now struggling a bit!
2 major issues, firstly, the Haas programm manual shows cutter comp being applied within the cycle but in Edgecam under 2 axis cycles, there is no [COMPGCODE] token for me to apply even tho there is a Subroutine & Pathcomp/Controller Offset option under the New Rough Turning tab.
Secondly, and this might be an Edgecam issue, when using New Rough Turning and leaving a finishing allowance on X & Z of different amounts, the post ignores and goes straight to finished size. If however I change to Constant offset, it leaves the stock on for finishing?

I would be very greatful for any help or pointers anyone is able to give.

    Thanks

    Brian

    Hi Brian,

With regards to the first issue, I've just tested it on my post and it works. Make sure you have a) controller offset selected for comp and not pathcomp and b) the [COMPGCODE] token in your rapid move code con.

Not sure about the second issue. One to log with Edgecam support me thinks.

    Hi Shrekoraya,

as for the rough cycle, is the on screen toolpath showing the tool going to the finish diameter.
if it displays the toolpath correctly on screen.

my guess would be that the Rough Turn constructor line is not outputting the correct XZ offset
values with the correct letters - so the controller is not applying any offset in the rough canned cycle.
