    Solidcam problem with hurco control

Currently evaluating Solidcam ,Hsm works has unfortunately lost a lot of its resellers in the uk

So we have a hurco with winmax control, not using conversational it is set up to read isnc

model a basic part and use solidcam to generate toolpaths...fine
run simulation....fine...sharp corners (basically a cube)
post using 3x mill generic evaluation post ....fine

load into hurco ,no problems ,verify with hurco graphics and the part is big with rads on the corners as if the cutter gomp is not being applied
or it is being applied a long way off the true boundary of the part

to check its not the graphics part was cut and came out as the hurco graphics verification

Its as if the output gcode has already taken into account the g41 (comp on) and is then leaving the control no work to do as in all computations are done in the pc and output as opposed to letting the control do the cutter comp (in control)

Im wondering if its a setting in solidcam as the toolpath is ok and i read through the code

Completely puzzled as HSMexpress using a fanuc post has cut everything fine

    Any hints tips?

    thanks

In technologies I select TOOLSIDE left and then tick compensation. That should force a G41.

Hi UKmxer I figured it out in the end the GPP can use two types of cutter comp one for centreline one for part profile
these are set to yes or no in the prp or gpp file

it was using radius comp in the file so when it output the gcode it was doubling up the cutter compensation and applying it to the centreline

I just need to figure out why its not posting coolant on /off despite mac file and tool set to flood coolant with the tick boxes ticked

    Hi Compositepro,

It does sound like a setting, but would recommend you call the guys at SolidCAM UK (they are very helpful). They will point you in the right direction and not charge you for advice! Call 01226 241744 or email [email protected]
