connecting exteral run switch to vfd

hello I have a hitachi wj200 vfd and I am wanting to wire a simple external switch however I cannot decipher the manual can anyone give me help.

What I need is for it to run when two pins are shorted across and stop when they are not, I was able to set this up on my old huyongyang but cant get this one right.

Very simple, place in external operation and close Input 1 to P24.

After reading through my book again the guy who set this up for me wrote the same thing p24 to 1 and to set A001= 01 and A002=01 for terminal mode. Now when I jump the two connections the run light comes on but the spindle does not turn, Ive checked my parameters several times to make sure they took and ideas?

A001 needs to be at 00 to control rpm from the pot on the unit.
