G0704 - X Axis Gib Wont go In Now - Throw this machine in the trash

    PLEASE HELP ME
My machine came last week, I took it apart to put ballscrews on it and convert it to a CNC. I go to put the thing back together and when I put the Gib in it suddenly JAMS during hte last 1" it's suppose to go in. Literally just 3 days ago I took it apart and it slid out fine, now it's a POS. Please anyone have any clue what to do?

If you have ballscrew mounts on the ends of the table, loosen them off and see if the Gib will go in, they have the table slightly angled or offset so that it does not fit all the way in.

Thanks for the reply, unfortunately I've been frustrated to the point where I have the saddle and table completely off the mill. No ball screws or anything. Just trying to slide the table onto the saddle and insert the gib. Just locks right up almost in. I can knock it in with a rubber hammer but then the table is completely locked and I can't move it at all

Before you throw the machine in the trash consider sending it to me.

As for the gib jamming have you backed off any adjustment screws? Also gibs are often tapered in more that one dimension, you need to make sure it is oriented right going in.

Sounds like you've flipped or rotated the gib or a screw has worked itself back in. Simple fix.

Make sure you put the gib strip back in the correct way and that you didn't mix the x with the y.
Also make sure the little brass nibs from the lock lever holes aren't protruding.
I had one jam in the hole and it prevented the gib strip from going all the way in just like you are describing.
