    Chinese Spindles 240v or 380v ?

    Hi all,

Does anyone know off hand if the ebay Chinese spindles will work on 380v 3 phase Eu power or 240v, or do you have to specify which power you are going to use? I have a 380v 3ph in ABB VFD and wish to use a standard smaller spindle on it at times.

Thanks in advance for an answer on this.
    Chris

I'm not any kind of expert on this but I believe that spindles have rated voltages. Some are 220v some are 380v. I've seen some that are rated to use both. However, I don't think supplying 380 volts to a spindle rated at 220v will work.

Can't you "program" your VFD to output 220 volts?

Input voltage is proportional to output voltage. If you have 3 phase 480 then it will work also on mine i have it hooked up single phase 220v, it acts as a phase converter to 3 phase.
