After two months of setting up, building an enclosure and learning about the machine I got to make my first cut. It is just engraving but it is a start. I knew nothing about cad, cam or g-code, programing or running a cnc mill before buying this machine from Igak, a member on here. I still know almost nothing but with his help I am getting there. Gary has also provided me with some tap files to play with while learning and offered to convert anything I may need to g code while I look for an affordable cam program that will suit my needs. John at Novakon has been a great help also and considering I bought a used mill from someone else and he did not make a dime on the sale The time he spent on the help and support he has been kind enough to give me is hard to believe. That to me is the definition of customer service.
The engraving was done on corian at a depth of 0.0120, feed rate of 50 ipm, and a spindle speed of 6000 with a 60 deg 1/4 x 1/4 carbide V-bit
Here are a couple of pictures of the engraving and one of the machine in its new home
