Re: WidgitMaster's Largest Steel Router Table Project 9ft x 5ft x 8" Water Cooled Spi

    Progress!
I have a PC with Linux Mint installed, now I have to learn how to use it!

BigRed is running on an old PC with XP, everything is working nicely except the Touch-Plate!

No matter what I do on the on Mach3 & the PMDX-126, the probe doesn't show up!

Its a 1" thick plate, which registers as a ground connection on my Volt Meter!
Also have Blue-Screen installed in Mach3
Manual says wires go to J11, Pin 9, but its not working???

    Any ideas?

Glad to hear it's resurected .

Tell me , if you're running XP anyway , why the motion controller ?
I mean XP supports the parallel port right , and a chinese breakoutboard will cost less then 5$ .

After several days, I’ve finally got BigRED back to work!
There were several issues with grounding, and shielding noise in a few cables!
With an old PC, i can get some things carved, while i learn how to operate LINUX Mint!
The little machine is still down, but I’m making progress on it too!

I’ll post some videos of BigRED at work!

BigRED was well behaved, after fixing all the noise & ground connections!
    Run time at: 3hr

    Looks Fantastic Widgit;
The painting skills appear to fall right in line with the machining skills. Perfection!
I'm also starting a Linuxcnc conversion on my small router. I just don't trust Mach and have been running pathpilot on my Novakon for quite a while. It appears to be rock solid but I still need to learn a bit more about the platform. I'm toying with the idea of a tool changer for the Torus which will be controlled by Linux (I hope).
Keep up the artistic endeavors. Your posts inspire us little folks!
    Have a great day.

Re: Can anyone tell me if Mach3 will run on Windows 10?

Glad to see that you are back in action sir.

My two old 386 processor CNC machine computers are still operating, but recently they stopped booting up unless I fiddle with the F1 and F2 keys and BIOS settings to get to the Windows startup screen. I finally had some free time available to replace the CR2032 batteries in the computers so that the computer can save some of the CMOS settings that are temporary. Now they are back in operation normally. What a relief!

They both have been kept very busy in the past five months.

Re: WidgitMaster's Largest Steel Router Table Project 9ft x 5ft x 8" Water Cooled Spi

Well, Big-Red is functioning nicely! I've been able to make some really nice large plaques!
The old Win-XP system is ok, as the date was set for 2017!

So far I have purchased an ESS Ethernet SmoothStepper for both machines,
Along with the 5-VDC power supplies for the SmoothSteppers! And a Panel mount RJ-45 cables!
Then I acquired two Dell-990 PC's with Windows-10 installed. Each PC will have a 2nd PCI Ethernet card to connect to the SmoothSteppers!
When I,m satisfied all is setup correctly, I'll hook one of the PC's to Big-Red!

I've decided to sell the small CNC router when its running smoothly, and use the money for additional Hyperbaric Oxygen treatments! As I have had 135 hours so far, and the repair results on my body were absolutely amazing!! My foot is almost 100% healed, and it's been three years now! The ringing in my ears is totally gone, and I now sleep better than I ever have! The PTSD had me tossing about in my sleep, and the nightmares sucked! Now its all gone!! But I do have an open wound on my heal, and I'm worried it will get infected if left open! Just glad to be ALIVE!

    By the Way!

This post was made on my New LINUX-MINT system, using FireFox !
    Progress!
