    Fast Probing Routine/Wizard/Setup?

Currently I am using the bed of nails Wizard in Mach 3, but I would sure like to find something faster. I can setup a small machine dedicated to probing or use one of my current working machines, and I can setup for either Mach 3 or LinuxCNC (formerly EMC2).

Its not really about machine speed, but about routine efficiency.

This routine looks really promising, but as near as I can tell its proprietary. CNC USB Controller - Digitizing 3D model with probe - YouTube

I don't see too many videos showing well - but linuxcnc has a stock gcode program called 'smartprobe.ngc' I have never used it but I think it may be what you are talking about

If you follow the link in the second video - there is some info on his mods to the smartprobe program

This is the latest program in the repository...

That is a much more efficient probing routine than the bed of nails Wizard in Mach. It would be no big deal to run the little machine I want to dedicate to probing on LinuxCNC. Thanks. I'll look into this.
