    Alarm 414 z Axis FAnuc 18M

    Hi,

We have a CNC Hardinge Conquest VMC700 with control Fanuc 18M. When we switch on appear us an alarm 414 (Z Axis detection system error ) and we found that in the parameter DGN 204 at bit #6 was on and that mean "the Main CPU board or option 2 board is faulty", the parameter 200 and 201 was clear.

We test changed the wire between servoamplifier and the main board with other axis and worked well (the alarm continue at the axis Z), then we changed the same wire in the main board (axis z per axis y) and the problem was went to axis y.

do you think that the Main CPU board is faulty? or we can do another test to probe that the main cpu work correctly?

    Faithfull,
    Martin

    try to varify drive also...
check the motor id in servo parameter.
keep everything as original and interchange wires from drive to axis whose motors are same.
    than see the result.

    Hi jjautomation,

Thanks for your interest in my problem. we did it, interchange the wires between axis and the problem was keeping in Z axis, but i think that the servodrive isn´t the problem because when we reset the machine we can move z axis.

we have noted that when the machine is warm the alarm 414 in Z axis is activated and when it´s cooled we can work normally, also when we working for a time (almost 5 hours or less) the motor in z axis does strange sound like if doesn´t have enough force.

Than the problem should be in main board.
The axis card/module is making the problem.
