    HELP: with Bosch 1617 wiring

I recently rebuilt a used Bosch 1617 with new bearings and brushes while installing a SuperPID. I have everything back together, but when I wire it up and plug it in, the breaker trips. This is the Bosch model without the factory speed control, so aside from replacing the brushes, I haven't altered the wiring. I've tried every permutation without any luck and am really bewildered. I've tested the switch and power cord and both are fine.

Here's a picture of what I remember to be the correct wiring arrangement : any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks for the reply. Yes, I've tried bypassing the switch, but it doesn't make a difference. I'm pulling my hair out because this seems so simple, but here's a list of what I've checked:

    -Tried all wiring permutations
-I've tested the mains: they're fine. And I've tested using other outlets: no difference.
-I've inspected and cleaned the armature connection: they seem fine
-Checked for any burnt coils: I don't see anything alarming
-Brushes are brand new and have good contact
-The switch has been tested and bypassed

Here is a coupling of photos and schematics. Maybe the stud terminals 22 are not connected correctly.Click image for larger version.
