    ez trak axis drives off

    hi all

    having a little trouble with my mill was working fine .switched on in the morning homed the axis jogged back to centre
    trammed the head and left the machine for about 5 hrs came back to start work and got an error maessage of axis drives off press any key .i now cant get any power to axis .have tried turning on and off but will not home just repeats the same error .

    all help appreciated thank andrew

    have now gone alittle bit deeper into this problem both drive boards have the red and green leds on when you press to home you can feel a small pulse on the hand wheels of the mill the model is a bmdc with a flash drive

    You should be able to select power on and jog each axis. The one that will not jog probably has a bad drive card. You can swap the control leads between the drives or just swap drive positions. If you have a 3 axis and it does nothing, probably the z axis. For a 2 axis, probably the y axis.

    whats the procedure for power on i've not used this procedure tet

    If I remember correctly, if you get the power off error prior to homing, you can select #7 and it should power the drives allowing you to jog the axis. If you attempt to jog the axis with a bad drive, it will give the power off error. Keith from Versitech was working with me on my drive problem and I think that is how we did it.
