Hi!
I suspect I'll have to replace my cheap 40W laser tube eventually. Would it be possible to drive a 60W glass tube from my (pretty new) 40W PSU?
Thanks!

A few of the PSU's available will drive a 60 watt tube if adjusted but in general a PSU should match the tube it's used with.
The el-cheapo card PSU's (such as the types in the K40 etc) won't do it, or if they do, they won't do it for very long.
cheers

Hi, if real 40W psu, then it can drive the 60W tube for sometim, but the output power can not be so good as real 60W psu.
But the question is, usually the cheap 40W machines sold on ebay and other are usually 25W or 30W. So not suggested.
depend your cutting thickness?? and choose the related...
Thanks everyone!
Yeah, it's a cheap K40 type laser, but I've thrown out all the electronics. Psu is the kind that's beeing sold all over ebay, like http://i.ebayimg.com/t/40W-CO2-Laser...qEQ~~60_57.JPG . For control I've got a DSP from lightobject.com .
I guess I'll stick with a 40W tube for now and maybe upgrade in the future.
Thanks,
Per
I want to know that is it possible to opt 40w psu to 60w co2 laser tube?Does it work.
Hi Melody, so I bought a G storm Weike 600 from your company but it's still on the high seas coming to me. It's fitted with a 40 watt laser tube, will I be able to upgrade to a 60watt tube without swapping out the PSU?
No
CNC lasers, constructions, service
The answer is a definite maybe. Some power supplies have a pot to adjust the output. Some 40 watt power supplies are actually bigger. so you won't know until it gets to you.
