I am tring to set up a stepper motor to work like a drive by wire system in a vehicle for a test fixture i am tring to make. I know the CNC world is very familiar with these and and i am not. Position control is important along with duty cycle. I am trying to control throttle position with a stepper motor and position is constantly changing. I currently have been using a linear actuator with feedback programmed with labview and it gets to hot running over a period of time. ANY HELP IS APPRECIATED

Reducing the current setting on the driver should bring your temperatures down.
