    help please with spindle wiring

Hi all i have just purchased a second hand roland pnc 2700. now it has been modified and all the controls for it have been upgraded so it will run mac 3. the problem i have is that there are no controls for the spindle and me being new to this doesnt have a clue how to wire it or what i need to do this. all i know about the spindle its self is that it has 4 wires to it, red yellow blue and black, now i was under the impression that this meant it was 3phase but i am not convinced. please please can someone help me to wire this up or give me some advice on what to do next and where i might find more information.

    thanks Anthony

You need to get the nature of the spindle technology in order to help, either name plate info or photo.

If all three wires have the same resistance between them then most likely AC induction motor?
Measure to make sure, check if one is connected to the motor frame?

the resistances between windings do not match each other they are as follows; black-blue=2.15, black-red=2.56, blue-red=4.18 and the yellow does not give a reading to any of them also none of them are connected to earth on body.
