Hello,

I am continually getting a Tool Unclamp Alarm 247 on my Mazak 510C II. I can reset the ATC arm and we are monitoring the clamp and unclamp of the drawbar itself in manual mode and it seems to work great.

I have run the Tool change in MDI mode and the same alarm will pop up.
I have run the Tool change in MDI mode with-out tools in the spindle or "on-deck" pocket and the same alarm will pop up.

It is intermittent and I am suspecting the hydraulic valve is going to puke.

Any other thoughts? I will be pulling up the manual to determine if there is a drawbar finger / spring replacement I should be doing also.

Check air pressure. Check sensor unclamping tool.

I slowed the arm down with the Mitsubishi Drive software on the control (MRJ-2 Parameter 158). The 257 Tool Unclamp Sensor Malfunction and the 256 Tool Clamp sensor malfunction went away and now I am getting the 302 ATC arm Driver malf. and 303 ATC amr 0B malf. alarm. It looks like the arm is out of alignment just enough to touch the side of the spindle when it is changing the tool. We will start alignment procedure....

After further review, there is a remote oil reservoir that holds oil for the tool clamp/unclamp cylinder. This was low on oil.
