    Maybe my problem is no one ever taught me how to machine metal and I just don't know any better.

    Nice feeling isn't it? I run the shortest cutters I can, and hold them right up to the start of the flutes in the collet... shorter the stickout the better!

    Totally! I love it when it's cutting fast and deep (well, for a Tormach at least) with that sweet-sweet hum!
