Gecko G540 A Axis has no output.

    Hi All,

    New here at the zone.

Am doing a CNC build right now using a USB Smooth Stepper, Mach 3 and a Gecko G540 with 2 x-axis motors.

Having a problem right now that I can't seem to resolve!!!

Have everything hooked up and everything works great except for I have no output coming out of my A-axis.

Have re-assigned pin outputs and moved motors around. I know that all the motors are ok and that all outputs work except what is coming out of the A-Axis port. I have control of the A-axis when pins are re-assigned(eg. z-axis changed to 8&9), but not the motor that is plugged into the A port.

Have also opened the G540 and moved G250 drivers around and they all work in different places except for the A-port.

Hoping its not the motherboard of the g540... Any suggestions?

I do want to add that all 4 motors do lock up when everything is powered up and I can get rid of some of the A motor idle noise with the A trim pot.

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Thanks,
    Mike

Call Geckodrives and ask them about this. It sounds like you might have a defective board. Fortunately, it's not Chinese - you can get tech support for it in English. If they agree that it's defective after having you do some tests, they'll probably exchange it for another one - they're good about things like that.

    Thanks Andrew,

Just called them and am arranging to ship it to them.

Hopefully it won't take too long!!!
