Steppers fail when Homing - MACH3

    Hi everyone,

I have a problem on my CNC hoping someone can help me out with.

I am running a XYZ plasma table with MACH3, when I jog, stepper motors are fine, when the G-code program is cutting, stepper motors are fine....the problem is when I click the Go Home button the steppers accelerate very fast and fail....same happens when the G-code program is running and the torch travels from one point to another without cutting...the motors fail and loose coordinates.

Why this doesn't happen when I jog or when I am cutting? Only happens when homing or when the torch is not cutting travelling from one point to another.
If I decrease the feedrate manually they work fine. How do I control this feedrate for once?

    Thank youy all !

    Ed

I replied to you in the chatbox. I'd try slowing down the velocity and acceleration in motor tuning. config>motor tuning.

    Hi Matt,

Thank you for your answer. Tried that already but it doesn't seem to work at all for this specific problem. I believe it is something related to the feedrate?

    Thanks,

It is not possible for you to change that and not have an effect on the machine speed. Can you post a screen shot of your motor tuning screen?

Also, if you go to Config > Homing/Limits, what is your Homing Speed set at?
