    Need help with simultaneous 4th axis

    Does anybody know how to machine a Helix, simultaneously with a 4th axis,on the outside of a 400mm dia part using FeatureCam. I have a solid model imported from solidworks, is there an easy solution to this? Am I just not clicking the right buttons?

    Yes, make a groove, set your parameters. Make sure when you start/import the part 4 axis rotary index is on on the appropriate axis. Make the groove, set the angle to the helix angle, and select wrap feature around index axis.

    Yeah I'm a bit of a gun at 4th axis. Send my the model and I'll see whats up. You can machine with the Y offset at a particular location. Look for Y offset in the help dialogue
