Please Al Depoalo if I'm doing a new rotary index, for my lathe, could I use the file created by AutoCAD with the same circumference as the new knob, as a new stock on V25, reporting numbers and the division instead of the text as You used on this example?
    Thanks for helping!

I am not sure what you are asking... Are asking if you can use the milling tool path on a lathe with live tooling?

    Wrapping

    Hi....
I need to make a new knob as a rotary index on my lathe. So You used a raw of text to engrave on a cylinder...I have to use a specific number of line on the knob, one over each 9 degrees, and the relative figure starting from zero to 19 corresponding at one decimal movement of my new screw. The question is if I use instead of Your text raw my file, as attached here, does it will works?

sure you can use any text or geometry for wrapping. These tool path is posted for a mill. So if you are running this on a lathe, it would depend on your controller. Some controllers will convert milling tool path to live tooling ( haas has a g code for this ).

So yes, you can create a dial knob using wrapping tool path with your mill.

    A new question

I did my definitive knob, You can found it as attached file, and during the simulation, I have standard V25+4th axe, I see my part rotating offset from the centre as an half diameter. It is because I posed my zero on top of the cylinder or because of this is a limitation of my version of BobCad..... Thanks for processing my question...

I think the only problem that you have is you machine loaded is a 3 axis mill and not a 4 axis mill. Once you load a 4 axis mill you shouldn't have any issues.
