Hello, everyone. Here is some information about how to choose cutting nozzle.Hope be helpful to someone need to choose cutting nozzles.

As a consumable of cutting torch of CNC cutting machines, cutting nozzle will be changed regularly. But many customers complained that the cutting nozzle was changed too frequently and suffered a severe loss in using process.

When purchasing electrode nozzle of CNC plasma cutting, customers should pay attention to quality of the nozzle. Plasma cutting will be consumed more energy than flame cutting. While many users bought low-qualified nozzles that caused more loss of nozzle. It is very important to realize that we could not choose poor-qualified electrode nozzle for saving our cost. Generally speaking, a whole set of electrode nozzle could be used for 3-4 hours. Customers complained the nozzle was consumed too much and fast, we concluded several causes as follows:

1. Apart from the quality of the electrode nozzle, you should consider whether the electrode nozzle and burning torch are matched perfectly. It is possible that electrode nozzle used now is different from that before, or electrode nozzle and burning torch you bought are from different manufactures. Though similar from appearance, standard of size is different among different manufacturers. Many manufacturers copied famous brand of plasma to produce electrode nozzle. They would copy through measuring and drawing the samples, which would cause deviation of size. Therefore, electrode nozzle and burning torch from different manufacturers could not be matched perfectly that would cause problems easily.

2. *It might be caused by improper operation. For example, Cutting distance between cutting torch and steel plate is too close (Generally speaking, the cutting distance should be equal to or more than 3-8mm ). Input voltage from outside is too high or unstable.

3. It might be attributed to materials, thickness, cutting techniques of cutting work pieces. Speak to materials of cutting pieces, general board, stainless steel or cast iron would be consumed less energy of electrode nozzle. While metal materials (copper, aluminum) would consume much more accessories. Panel, with the thickness of less than 10mm, is economical to use nozzle. But we don’t know whether there was panel, with thickness of more than 16mm. If nozzles would be used to cut panels, which have the thickness of 16 mm, it would consume too much energy of nozzle. Punching cutting would consume more energy of nozzle than cutting from edge when arching. Therefore, you must remember to choose the nozzles with a proper watt of plasma power, ampere size and aperture when purchasing plasma power and nozzle (you can refer to the quality and cutting thickness). In this way, it could give full paly to the nozzles to achieve cutting efficiency and lifespan.
