2006 Made from plywood, not MDF question.

Has anyone published plans to make the 2006 out of plywood instead of MDF?

I have a friend with a water jet table, MDF doesn't play well with water, so I was thinking about using regular premium grade or birch or other high end ply-woods instead.

    Any thoughts?

Its possible to make subtle adjustments (scaling) the dxf files to accommodate the thickness difference in the material you would like to use.
Either scale the dimensions in your cad program or adjust the scale in Mach3.

A waterjet will cut plywood however eliminating swelling due to open edges may be an issue.

Common sense dictates allowing the wood to dry thoroughly before glue-up.

A high grade plywood laminate will work, People have built machines out of Ply, but in the right environment (humidity controlled) MDF is more stable. However Due to the torsion Box contraction the Higher grade Plywood should work well.
One note on the sides of the gantry you may want to provide some angle iron to help stabilize that section.
    Thanks,
