How do I program sub spindle support?

Programming this part to run on a Citizen l20 VIII. My plans are to turn .125 then grooves and dia. My question is how do i program the sub to come in and support while turning the.125 on opposing end. I was thinking of using G650 support. But not sure how to implement this.

    Thanks

You can use the G650 just like you would during the pick-off process, but you have to command all the "Z" moves in "W". That is to say, command all linear moves as incremental moves.

What material? i will do it this way
    ;I will rough x.125 than
finish turn x.125 with same tool x.25,
x.360 all the way to next x.125
then bring sub forward and do not let go part.

you may be need to turn first x.25, first x.312 and finish them.
then bring sub forward and support OD.250 not OD.125, finish other grooves

Why would you do so many roughing passes. I would not rough any of the first .125 I would simply use a vcmt turning tool and take one pass. That is what these machines are designed to do. I would then bring sub up grab on .125 turn .360 to the end of part then use a left handed grooving tool and run the rest of the part with sub are support. very simple part. Like was said before just use g650 the same you would for cutoff except you will be grooving the rest of part. sub spindle will follow z1 moves.

You can turn this part however you like it, but if you going to turn inconel waspaloy, hexoloy... or other hard materials it will not work. I can tell you that much. Insert will not make 5 parts. It's all depends on material. Yes you can use LH tool.

there is no need to do roughing, it will make you loose so much time. you can turn it in one pass. roughing may only need for the end of the part.. So that you may get a smoother cut.. a lh tool will turn the length .125 and it will also cut off the part with sub spindle support.. G650 may work for syncing Z1/2. this part also does not seem to be very easy to me as the lh tool may leave a small tit on the radius end..
