    Hard Disk Motor

    Hi, I'd like to ask how what kind of motor does a hard disk use and where can I find information regarding it. Thanks.

    most of the hdd motors i've seen have 4 wires. None can be run by dc current. Lots of info here http://www.epanorama.net/circuits/diskstepper.html

    Hard drive motors are of a brushless design. Check these guys out for more information on them http://www.gobrushless.com/ccp51/cgi-bin/cp-app.cgi
    If it's not nailed down, it's mine.
    If I can pry it loose, it's not nailed down.
