Just started looking thru the connections and see a ground pins in the connectors and don't see where they connect in the cable to the motor?
I have 18/4 shielded cable with the copper wire in it. I just don't recall a ground wire on the motor.

Where does the ground connect too?
    or does it?

You should have an earth ground lug in the enclosure that is connected to the service ground, and motor frames and shields should be connected to this point.

That ground is the drain for the shield ground in the cables to the motors it is only connected at the driver end not at the motor end.
It is grounded through the G540.

Will be putting the motors together this weekend.
Going tomorrow and pick up my mill from the ups fright center.
Still waiting on my parts from cncfusion.
Sent an email couple days ago and have not heard from them yet.

I use the G540 on my G0704. Since it is a lower amp controller I added 2 50lbs struts to mine to help with Z-Axis counter balance. Works really well.

I used the idea from here. CNC milling machine | design & make

I Made my brackets then I attached the strut to the top raised the head all the way to the top and let the strut hang down to determine where to drill and tap the bottom hole in the column.
Now this will only work without the Z-Axis flip MOD.
