    Mach3 PWM Spindle Speed Control using 220v 1ph VFD/220v 3ph spindle motor.

Maybe I'm just dense, but I'm having a hard time getting my head around how to interface Mach3's PWM speed control output, with a VFD. The VFD I have has three speed control inputs, 0-5vdc, 0-10vdc, and 4-20ma. Standard industrial control parameters. Is there a way to take the Mach3 PWM signal, and converts it to 0-10vdc? I'd like to be able to use this VFD if there is a way to interface it with Mach.

Thanks for any help, brain is hungry!

There are quite a few BOB's that have the PWM to 10v analogue feature, if the VFD is a Huanyang there is also a serial Modbus interface for Mach.

Thanks Al, that's what I needed. Looking at the C11, C11g or C11gs from CNC4PC. For those who know, is the extra 20 bucks for full opto isolation worth it?

Strictly speaking you only need full isolation where the analogue input control is not galvanically isolated from the incoming supply as in the KB DC controllers, it is very rare now to find the +12 v etc on the average VFD that is not isolated.
So far, the BOB's that I have come across have PWM to analogue isolation anyway?
Or are you referring to other pins on the P.P.?

Thanks Al, with respect to opto-isolation, I was just referring to all the BOB inputs and outputs. Their C11 board, is $20 more, but provides full opto-isolation on all in and out pins. I just wondered if that was really necessary and worth the extra expense. I picked up on the analog output being opto-isolated on all the BOB's.
