Question VFD controlled by Mach3. Need to lower my 0-10VDC to bring the actual speed to the...

VFD controlled by Mach3. I Need to lower my 0-10VDC to bring the actual speed (requested in mach3) to the speed that I actually get (as shown by my Index Pulse card)

Its all working, by I cannot lower my voltage enough either on my CNC4pC board or my dedicated 12vdc PS to "tune" the spindle (actually RPMs) to the RPM's I request.

Can I just put a resistor on the PS output? or on the 0-10VDC output on my CNC4pC card? if so, what value would I try to get an approximate 20-25% reduction in voltage output?

    Thanks,
    Nate.

You need a voltage divider. You can use a 10k potentiometer (check the manual to see how much input impedance is recommended) with the input tied to one fixed side and the other fixed side tied to GND. Tie the adjustable pin to the input of your VFD.

Why not make the adjustments in Mach3 > ports and pins>spindle settings >
    pulley ratios?
By adjusting the low and the high speed settings ,better calibration
should be attainable. Also there should be a setting for pulse count
    from the index pulse card.

Thinking more about this your problem is that you do
not have software settings matching the hardware.
The number you have set for max speed in pulley ratio settings does not
match the spindle motor's full speed rpm.

First establish what is the full rpm of the spindle motor.
In ports and pins> spindle setup, set up a pulley ratio of ( 0 - 100)
Start spindle and run with S100 . rpm showed is the max rpm
of your spindle motor. The S100 sets the pwm signal at 100 percent.
Take that number and set up a pulley ratio.
This should get you up and working.
