im having a hard time machining the profile for this part. i use a 3/8" endmill to create the .076/.078" "tab" and then go to yo. and feed z to create the .187 radius, but i cant seem to create the .030" radii on each end... perhaps i need to start at y-.5 and mill the profile as i go to y.5? g19 then g2, g3, g2?
ive tried it a number of different ways but keep getting path error.
I do have cad, so here are the numbers you need...
So you're probably looking at
...working from left to right...outside to inside...
G19 (or whatever your YZ plane is)
G0 Y-.6 (away from part)
X-.2 Z.6 (away from part)
G1 G42 Y.2485 Z.287 F5.(comp on, begin .050 rad)
G2 Y .1985 Z.337 R.05 F2.(and of .05 rad)
G1 Y.1787 (begin of .03 rad)
G2 Y.154 Z.3241 R.030 (end of .03 rad)
G0 G40 W-.2 (clear)
C180. Y.5
Z.6
(repeat on other side)
G1 G42 Y.2485 Z.287 (comp on, begin .050 rad)
G2 Y .1985 Z.337 R.05 (and of .05 rad)
G1 Y.1787 (begin of .03 rad)
G2 Y.154 Z.3241 R.030 (end of .03 rad)
Dont know if that will work, so here's the drawing if you need it too.
I forgot to add the tangent distance between the end of the part and the .1875 radius. that is .2435" if you need it for something, like making the profile complete with a .250 endmill or something. (or any EM smaller than .375
