Okuma Millac 550H Tool Magazine position error

    Hello everyone,

Magazine servo drive is showing pot #6 for pot #1. Drive is a Teijin Seiki Vigoservo ARS60-15. We have no procedure for setting zero reference on magazine. Any info will be greatly appreciated

    What is wrong?
Use tool number as presented on the Operator's Panel screen. Machine is working correct if it corresponds to commanded one.
Many successful Okuma users don't know what is servo drive and how it can show pot number ...

    Algirdas,

I thought about it but we have 6 different jobs with 10+ tools each. Servo drive tells machine what tool is coming in. Drive tells machine tool #1 is tool #6.

OT: interesting, how do you know, what servo drive tells to machine.
    Once again:
If you command "tool number 544" does this tool comes to spindle?
    If you command:
    M63
    M6
does "empty tool" comes to spindle?

If I command tool #1, tool #6 comes to spindle. Drive has LED display that will show magazine position #.

Did you load tools directly into the magazine ? ( ie T1 into Pot#1, T2 into Pot#2 .... ) .... this is wrong procedure,
    or
call the tool into the spindle, & then (manually) change the tool with another ? ( this allows the control to keep the T# & P# register in sync )

The machine has a random tool changer, meaning it will exchange tools into the next available pot, the only time that a pot # is considered by an operator, is when he carefully notes what tool # is in what pot, and exchanges it with a new tool ( or to assign a different T# to that particular pot, even identifying it as "empty".... using * as the tool number )

    I'll add a little.
The manual tool setting procedure step-by-step is described in manual with illustrations. It's simple. Clean tool table first. Or make sure, the control shows empty spindle - tool not present. Open tool setting page in manual mode. Set the tool into spindle manually (prepare, open, close). Set the tool number. Make sure, the next tool is empty (no tool). "Cycle run" in ATC panel. Machine cycles ATC and you have your tool in magazine now. Set next tool and so on.
Tool offsets could be set with this procedure also.
