So I have the dreaded "intermittent" problem. Some days it happens quite a few times, then other days nothing for weeks on end. The problem is the spindle will spin but the turret just stops wherever it is at in the middle of a program. If the live tool drive is active the turret will go through the motions of the code but the live tool drive will not turn on leaving the tool to crash and break.

If not in live tool drive, and the machine is in turning code, then turret just stops and spindle turns will not progress through the program G code.

Control does not alarm out, no turret turn, nothing. Contacting the dealer they say to look for alarm codes on back fanuc controls (nothing there), or on main front board (nothing there).

Has anyone ever had this problem? What was the cause/solution. I can't really even call it in because there's no telling when the problem will occur. One of the repair technicians said to check the door to see if the open sensor was somehow causing the issue. This has been checked.
