I did my apprenticeship on the lathes. I still have fond memories.....
Sorry can't help with a manual but usually it helps to clean the machine thoroughly and then check with a dial gauge for run out, play etc....
Some members here have experience on the topic of adjustments necessary...

    Colchester triumph manual

    Atmosports,

do a google search for tony@lathes, Tony has manuals for lots of things. I've just been in correspondance with him about my 1930's model colchester. If you buy form him, he is sometimes slow at getting things sent! You will find information on his site about your lathe including dateing by serial numbers. I found out that mine was built in 1944 this way!

    Good luck, Matthew

Sorry to "thread hijack", I have a 1944 Colchester belt-drive "Master" you wouldn't happen to know where I can get a cross section drawing of the spindle, I need to adjust the thrust bushing and I can't see it! When working between centers, the back-gear gets gradually tighter! The spindle is bronze bushed belt drive!

    Thanks, Matthew

    Exclamation

Hi I am after the recomended monthly/weekly/daily checks for these machines

I am implementing a set of standard checks for the operators to carry out.

I have had a look online for a PDF version of the manual for this machine, hoping that the standard checks would be included, unfortunatly I have not been able to find a copy of the manual.

    can anyone help me?

if anyone has a copy of the manual can you email me a copy to
    [email protected]
    Thanks

    Jon
