    Viewing Parts

    is there a way to switch view so that only 3D parts are visible and everything else goes into hide??

    You can "Hide Curves", which will leave only surfaces and solids showing. Just right click on the screen and choose Hide All and then Curves or whatever else you may wish to hide.
