Output in arcs for Thread milling?

Can dolphin output in Arcs instead of line code. I was trying to do single point thread milling and the generated Gcode was so large that I could not fit it on the machine and I had to DNC it. The problem with the DNC was that with all the little movements the controller does not seem to have a far enough look ahead to be able to keep up so it slows the feedrate way down in order to buffer it. So I have a large program that should only take a couple of minutes to run but now it takes 17 min run.

Yes, it depends on what you post processor is configured for.

If you edit the post you will find a line in the CYCLES section that reads something like ARC VECTOR or HELIX VECTOR.

If you delete this entry(ies) then the output will be Arc moves.

PLEASE ENSURE that you don't overwrite the original post - after the change use Save As... and give the modified post a new name.

Forgot to mention, you can also adjust the vector tolerance to give less linear moves.

In CAM go to Setup > Vector Tolerance and change the value to a larger number.

    Andre,

Thanks for that info. I changed the post and the file went from 356k down to 2.2k. That's over 90% reduction
