    Cold Saw Cutting Blade Advise

I have a cold saw with a refurbished blade. The blade has 109 teeth on it. It work's ok for thin aluminum, but I need to cut 1" Aluminum Round Rod.

I believe a blade with lots more teeth would cut it like butter. What does anyone think?

Plus I'd prefer a new blade because this used one is biting in the metal.

Any advise on the number of teeth for cutting 1" Rod solid stock Aluminum 6061?

    Thanks.

Also where to get a good price on a good blade? USED vs. New what do you think?

I think you've got it backwards; you need more teeth to cut thinner stock. If your blade is sharp, it shouldn't have any trouble cutting that rod. But it sounds like it's not. See if you can get it sharpened at a local saw shop; if there isn't one try these guys: CNC Cold Saw Blade Sharpening :: California Cold Saw - We saw into the future . They should be able to order new blades for you as well, but here are some more links: Coldsawstore...Cold Saw Blades and Cold Saw Machines Cold Saw Blades M-2 HSS | The Blade Mfg. Co
