    editing g-code

Hello, I need to make some cutting modifications, what I need to know is when I need to cut a piece of material that is longer than my work area and then I need to move the material so that it could continue to finish the job? I know by using notepad I can cut and paste and move the program but being a rookie I would like to get some professional advice. Thank you

Have you ever seen an instructional book on G-code? They generally suggest drawing out your part, then sketching in the toolpath, then writing code for each segment of your toolpath.

I write toolpaths on a daily basis with a piece of scrap paper and notepad. Just do an air cut first and hug the estop if you aren't confident in your programming.
