I trying to retrofit a old Maho 600 with Kflop / Kanalog and Mach3. The old controller uses a linear encoder (sin /cos) as input. Can I use the 8 ADC on the Kanalog as input for the axis.

How do I select the ADC of the Kanalog as input channels 0 and 1 in the configuration screen.

Heidenhain used two signal levels for the sin/cos models, you can get a sin/cos to TTL differential convertor, often avail on ebay.

Hi markder13,

As AL points out it would be much simpler to get a converter and just connect digital TTL Quadrature.

But KFLOP does have an Input Type = Resolver that will accept sine/cosine ADC signals. But they will have to have significant voltage amplitude to get a nice sine wave measurement on the +/-10V 12-bit inputs. The Input Gains and offset parameters will need to be adjusted to have matched Sine/Cosine amplitudes with average values of zero. If these are the 11uA current type then a current to voltage amplifier would be needed.

The ADC are sampled every 90us so the speed should not exceed one sine wave cycle every 4 x 90us.
