mach wanders off after tool change

I've searched the web endlessly over to see if anyone else has this issue but I've basically come up with nothing .
I have programs that have been running for over a year and the programs are flawless , but , every so often mach wanders off and stops in the wrong position after doing a tool change . All of my tools are in separate holders and have been qualified months ago , so i do nothing to interrupt the process while doing a tool change . After doing a tool chance , I hit cycle start and the tool advances toward the programmed position , but then it'll suddenly veer off in a totally different direction , lower the z then stop with the spindle still running . At that point I need to scroll back up to the tool change position the hit cycle start again and most times it's fine unless it decides to do it again .
I can run the same program all day and it may not do this , but then maybe it will , it can happen on any tool change and there is rhyme or reason that I can find that would cause this . It only happens on the first move after a tool change , and this happens on both mills which run completely different electronics and pc's . It's become something that I'm used to watching for , but it makes it difficult when I send my boys (who are still learning) out to make parts for me
Is anyone else having this issue ???

Are both machines running the same version of Mach3? Which version(s)?

Are you using the default M6 macros, or custom macros?

I'll check the version but I believe I'm using the most up to date .
I'm using the default macro , I've been contemplation changing the programmed m6 to a m0 just to see if it would make a difference

I've heard that some people have issues with the most current release. You might want to try going back to 3.43.057 or 3.43.062.

I'm still using 3.42.020, and I've never seen this happen.

I'll try that . I believe you nailed it because I don't recall having that problem when I set up the first mill , and I'm pretty sure that I updated the version at some point around setting up the other mill . I have another mill that I'm now accumulating parts for so it'll be nice to have this sorted
So if i save the xml file then that'll have all of my settings so that I can wipe out the mach folder , right ?
Do the tool and work shifts get saved withing the xml files ? I'm kinda hoping not to disrupt things too much .

I think you also want fixtures.dat and tools.dat from the\macros\profilename folder.

After backing up your files, I think you can just install the older version over the top of the current one.
