    Homing Question

Wiring up homing sensors to a new breakout board:

I have 4 separate NPN prox sensors for each axis. A axis is slaved to X axis on the gantry to square it. Can I wire the Z home sensor, then Y home sensor and the X home sensor to 1 input and then wire A sensor to it's own input so that it can find home while X is searching for home at the same time?

    Thanks,
    Scott

I believe the answer to your question is yes as I am currently doing this with a G540 but it may depend on the breakout boards, Gerry seems to be an expert on the subject and hopefully can chime in.

In my case, X, Y and Z are wired together and A is separate for squaring of the gantry to the table.

One thing to keep in mind is that you will need some adjustments on the sensors for the X and A axis to square it.

You can wire the switches in any way you like. Generally Mach homes 1 direction at a time unless you change the macro.

Yes, you were correct. The A axis in our case must be on a separate input so that it can home independently of X. All wired up and working normally now. A sensor is adjustable so that I can square the gantry.

    Thanks,
