    Spindle Height

Using my ER11 spindle with a 1/16” bit keeps the bottom of my air cooled spindle dangerously close to the surface of my cut.

I wonder if there is any gadget out there which I can attach it to my ER11 collet to maintain a better clearence to the top of my cut

Longer bit, perhaps one with same cutting length but larger shank to maintain maximal rigidity

I’m using 1/8” shank for 1/16” bit and that is the largest shank I can find for 1/16” bit. The total length of the bit is 1.5” so after you put about 1/2” into the collet you are left with only 1” which is not very much.
