I am a teacher of technology and my department has had to replace a failed Suregrave Wizzard DT with a Roland Modela. However, the machine is in perfect condition but it is the controller that has failed. I believe this is the Hi Drive version and uses a remote control handset.
it has been tested and it seems the logic board (power board) has failed with no obvious way to get a replacement anymore. The rest of the machine is in great condition so I wanted to salvage it somehow.
i believe that you can use other controllers with the actuall milling part of the machine and wondered how this works.
any suggestions? There are 5 serial connectors that link the machine itself with the hi drive controller in the base if that helps.
