I can work my way though a part by programming it feature by feature using the conversational method. (is it called VQC on the lathes?). Every section gets written into MDI and overwrites previous operation. How can I copy each section out and string it all together into a repeatable program?

Eg. I write the face program, it get's put and run in MDI. Next write the od turning program. It goes into MDI and overwrites facing. Etc Etc.

The only way I know is to convert each section in MDI into its own program: Type a program number (O00001, O00002, O00003 etc) at the beginning of the first line and press ALTER. This will give you a series of programs you can then stitch together using the Clipboard.

I believe F4 outputs the code from IPS to a program while cyclestart just dumps it into MDI and runs from there. That is, if you're using the Intuitive Programming System...I've never used VQC.

Doesn't the VQC menu give you the option of "output to current program"? (option 3 is output to MDI if I recall)
Otherwise Geoff's suggestion would take care of it just fine.
