    MoriseikiMG40 tool clamp

    Hi everyone,

    We have a Moriseiki MG-40 Fanuc 15-m with 20 tool arm type atc system, our problem is when we operate M6 T1 command on MDI or Auto mode

    1- atc door open and spindle orientation finished
    2-tool pot down and ok
    3-arm forward to spindle is ok
    4-TOOL UNCLAMP is not work in this point also arm not stop and continue to run
    5-Arm finish all turn operation and wait M6 Finish but cant then LS14 IS NOT ON DURING ARM TURN alarm occurs..(we checked that sensor place is correct and work well)

    We reload all parameters from original book and check everything carefully but still dont understand why tool unclamp is not work during ATC cycle operation

    Does anybodyknow how to set magazine or solve this problem..

    I assume you mean MV40. They use air over oil in manual unclamp, but in auto or MDI, it uses a cam in the ATC gearbox to press a hydraulic plunger. If the Lucifer valve on the unclamp cylinder fails, you will get air in the closed loop hydraulic circuit, or it simply won't switch over for auto tool change. You may need to bleed the system, you may also have a broken cam bearing in the ATC. No parameters control tool unclamp during an ATC cycle.

    Sorry for machine model just i remember MG 40, Fİrst of all im not familiar about Mori seiki machine so please help me patiently,

    About tool unclamp system, there is a tool unclamp button on machine and it just command tool clamp-unclamp cylinder manually and its working well (its mean valve and all system working) ATC CAM mechanism is not connect to tool clamp system so im confused, Also there is no hydrolic on the tool clamp system, its working with air,

    If you inform me more then i will be very glad for your help,

    Its a closed loop hydraulic system, no pump. Air is for manual tool unclamp only. You won't see the piston, its in the ATC gear box. I'm assuming there is probably a pressure gauge on top of the gearbox as well on that vintage machine. Not an easy ATC to diagnose if you've never worked on them.
